We're in the midst of summer! During these hot days, it’s important to stay hydrated. And guess who else needs to stay hydrated? Your dog!

The human body is made up of 60% water, and your dog’s body is made up of 80% water! That means when you are outside and feel hot and sweaty, your dog feels it just as much. Dogs lose water through their paws, when they pant, and through excreting waste. When dogs become too dehydrated they can experience kidney and organ failure, become very sick, and even die.

So how much water does your dog need?

They need one ounce of water per every pound of body weight every day.

How do you know if your pet is dehydrated?

Some of the common symptoms of dehydration in dogs are vomiting, diarrhea, loss of energy or appetite, dry and sunken eyes, dry gums, excessive panting, or loss of skin elasticity.  This sounds like straight up not a good time, so your dog probably doesn’t want to experience this at any point this summer!

How To Keep Your Dog Hydrated

The best way to keep your dog hydrated is to make sure they have constant access to fresh water, especially when you are spending time outside. The Toadfish Non-Tipping Dog Bowl is the perfect way to make sure your dog constantly has enough water.

Our Dog Bowl comes with a lid, so you can bring your dog’s water on the go. Whether you’re going out on the boat, for a walk on the beach, or even to your dog’s favorite park to see all their pals, our dog bowl has you covered. Our Non-Tipping design also helps water stay in the bowl as your pet drinks, so they don’t splash it around and more ends up on the floor than in their body.

Even when you leave the house, your pet needs access to water in order to stay hydrated. It’s important that you leave your dog’s water dish full and clean even when you aren’t around. Worried your dog will make a mess out of the water while you are gone? Grab one of our dog bowl mats to keep your floors clean and mess-free. The silicone mat has a raised edge to hold in any spilled water, and it’s also dishwasher safe to make cleaning up a breeze.

This summer, make sure to keep your dog hydrated and healthy with a Toadfish Dog Bowl bundle!
