This easy recipe for baked scallops with a wonderful sauce of butter, lemon, and Parmesan is our favorite way of cooking this delicious seafood.
It's ready in about 30 minutes, truly easy to make, and it's just perfect when served with rice or mashed potatoes!
Baked scallops topped with chopped parsley, served in an oval baking dish. We love them for their amazing flavor, and this particular recipe is especially good. It's rich, buttery, and very flavorful.
2 lbs. large sea scallops (15 per pound)
6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons dry white wine
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon kosher salt and black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/8 teaspoon cayenne Pepper
1/4 teaspoon sweet Paprika
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
Start by mixing butter, white wine, lemon juice, parmesan, and spices into one mixing bowl.
Next, top the sea scallops with the mixture and mix thoroughly.
Cover and bake the scallops in a broiler-safe fish until cooked through, about 25 minutes in a 350°F oven.
Remove scallops from oven and sprinkle the dish with more parmesan cheese and paprika.
Broil until the tops of the scallops are browned and crispy.
Finally, sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve!
PRO TIP: It’s important to use large sea scallops in this recipe. Jumbo scallops (12 per pound) are perfect, since smaller ones tend to become overcooked.
