How To Properly Pack Your Cooler

With fall just around the corner, your outdoor adventures are surely just beginning. Whether it's a weekend to your favorite campsite or celebrating game day at a tailgate, having a properly packed cooler is an important step to maximizing your fun outside.

In order to help you get the most out of your cooler, we've compiled a list of helpful tips for when it comes to packing a cooler. In this blog, you will learn everything you need to know for keeping your food and drinks cold.

Freezing Your Food & Drinks Beforehand

If you'll be spending longer than a day or two outdoors, it is important to think ahead. Keeping food and drinks frozen before placing into your cooler will allow for the items to thaw correctly and give you additional cold support on other food and drinks.

If you'll be packing water or other non-carbonated drinks, freezing them is a great way to save money and increase the likelihood of them staying colder for longer.

Use Ice Blocks

Using ice blocks is a great way to keep your food and drinks cold without the mess. Often times, people use bags of ice when going on multiple day excursions. However, ice tends to melt rather quickly, leading to soggy and wet food. In order to prevent this, we suggest using ice blocks, frozen water bottles, or frozen Tupperware filled with water. Not only will this save you time and money, but keep you mess-free and stress-free!

Layer Up Your Food & Drinks

Start by placing ice blocks or bags of ice on the bottom of the cooler. Place drinks over this layer and cover with another thin layer. If possible, fill a blocked off section of the cooler with your food and other dry goods. We suggest taking your food out of its original packaging and replacing it with Tupperware or reusable plastic bags. This will ensure that no food gets wet or soggy.

Add an extra layer of insulation using reflective material on the top of the cooler. This helps reflect the un away from the cooler, keeping it colder for longer.

Keep It Closed

This one seems pretty obvious to most. By keeping your cooler closed, you'll be trapping the cold air inside of the insulated layers, resulting in cold food and drinks for you to enjoy!

Keep Drinks Cold For Longer

When it's time to enjoy your favorite beverage, you may notice it gets warmer from the moment it's been taken out of the cooler. Well, we have a solution for that! Bring along a can cooler to ensure your drink stays cold for hours on end.

These double-wall vacuum insulated, stainless steel can coolers were designed to keep your drink cold, no matter where the adventure takes you. Not only do they keep your drinks cold, but they feature SmartGrip suction technology that helps keep your drink upright and spill-free.
