At Toadfish, our mission to protect and restore coastal ecosystems drives everything we do. Our passion isn’t confined to our products or internal initiatives—it extends into the partnerships we forge with like-minded organizations that work to conserve the waters we all call home. Every year, we proudly support projects that address pressing environmental challenges and promote sustainable solutions. From oyster restoration efforts to hockey-stick recycling programs, here’s how we joined forces with incredible groups this year to make a meaningful impact.

Toadfish X South Carolina Department of Natural Resources

The lowcountry of South Carolina is teeming with life, much due to the keystone species that anchor its ecosystem: oysters. But with an abundance of oyster larvae and a scarcity of hard substrate for larval oysters to attach, SCDNR’s restoration efforts are critical. Their Moving Green Shell Project addresses this by replacing quarantined shells ready for environmental use back into the water, creating new oyster reefs and bolstering vital habitats. By teaming up, Toadfish and SCDNR are ensuring that the lowcountry’s rich biodiversity thrives for generations to come.

Toadfish X Tampa Bay Waterkeeper

The Tampa Bay estuary has faced devastating challenges, from large-scale fish kills to pollution disasters like Piney Point. Seagrass, a vital habitat, food source, and water filtration system that supports hundreds of marine species, has been one of the victims of human impact. Tampa Bay Waterkeeper works relentlessly to restore these underwater meadows while bringing light to the root causes of harm, from poor environmental policies to overexploitation of resources. By supporting their efforts, Toadfish helped foster healthier waters and a stronger future for this vibrant ecosystem.

Toadfish X Coastal Conservation Association - Florida

Once a thriving estuary, the Indian River Lagoon has seen its clam populations decimated by poor water quality and overharvesting. Coastal Conservation Association Florida has joined forces with experts and innovators to lead the Billion Clam Restoration Project, a monumental effort to restore the lagoon’s biodiversity. These restored clam beds not only filter the water but also serve as a foundation for the ecosystem’s revival. Toadfish has proudly partnered with CCA Florida to help turn this vision into reality, supporting the lagoon’s path toward recovery.

Toadfish X Rink2Reef

Recycling meets conservation with Rink2Reef, an organization repurposing used hockey sticks into hard substrate for oyster reef restoration. These creative reefs provide a new home for oyster spat and promote the growth of sustainable, miniature ecosystems. One of their latest projects focuses on Oak Island, North Carolina, where cutting-edge technology is monitoring the progress and efficacy of these innovative artificial reefs. By collaborating with Rink2Reef, Toadfish helped advance this incredible work, merging ingenuity with environmental stewardship.
